Astros insider: Framber Valdez's ineffectiveness continues. He says there's an 'easy fix.'
Following a 12-pitch first inning, Valdez’s control went downhill. He threw 50 of his 80 pitches for strikes and surrendered four times as many hits as he hadValdez’s command has suffered since that April 8 outing. Similar to, in which he walked five batters, Valdez issued four walks Tuesday.
“I think inconsistencies in my mechanics and also inconsistencies in throwing strikes,” Valdez said through an interpreter. “I think there's an easy fix. It’s pretty much just all about like mechanics and command.” “I feel like he was pitching and falling behind, walking people. It’s hard to pitch like that,” Maldonado said. “I feel like the first outing he was attacking the strike zone more, down more in the strike zone. It’s hard for me to see mechanics. Probably look into that tomorrow.”
