The supermarket has added two extras to its Rewards scheme ahead of the bank holiday weekend and new customers can benefit most
Asda has announced it has added two bonuses to its loyalty app, Asda Rewards, just in time for the bank holiday. New and existing users who spend £50 in stores or online until midnight on Sunday, August 27, will receive a one-off £5 in their Cashpot.
New Asda Rewards users will also be able to take advantage of the First Scan Bonus, until Saturday, September 30. Customers who download Asda Rewards, sign up for an account and scan the app before September 30 will receive £5 in their Cashpot – meaning new users could earn up to £10 this bank holiday.
Rewards provides customers with the chance to earn pounds, rather than points, each time they purchase certain products or complete a milestone mission. Asda said its customers had earned more than £200million via Asda Rewards since it launched in August last year. More than five million customers now use the app every month and have been growing their Cashpots to help reduce their grocery bills.
Asda also recently introduced the Christmas Saver Cashpot to the app. The new feature allows customers to save their Cashpot for spending over the Christmas period, when budgets may be tight this year. Almost 400,000 customers have already opened a Christmas Saver Cashpot as they begin to save for Christmas, and £6m has already been transferred into Saver Cashpots ready for the festive period. Asda customers who transfer money into their Christmas Saver Cashpot will also receive a one-off cash bonus of up to £5, depending on the amount they transfer. To get started on Rewards, customers need to download the Asda Rewards app and log in with - or create - an Asda Groceries account.
