Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham will leave the club next summer, it has been confirmed.

Explaining his decision to step down, he said:"This was a tough decision, but it is time to pursue another challenge."Now is not the time for goodbyes as I remain focused until my last day and supporting a seamless transition."

Co-chairman Josh Kroenke added:"Whilst it is business as usual with everyone focused on the season ahead, we'd like to take this moment to thank him for his contribution and long service.Loading…Venkatesham joined Arsenal in 2010, and was the club's managing director from 2018. He assumed the chief executive role two years later.

He was in charge of the club's day-to-day operations both on and off the pitch, and has been one of the driving forces behind Arsenal's modern strategies in terms of transfers."The Board remains committed to our strategy and will address leadership change as we continue to drive the club forward.

His previous roles at the Gunners include the head of global partnerships, director of global partnerships and business strategy, and sales and marketing director.
