After failing to establish himself in the French capital, the 23-year-old joined Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen for €15million. Arsenal and Newcastle are also reportedly interested in signing Diaby and have both been strongly linked with him over the last two years or so. Arsenal – despite signing Leandro Trossard in January – also remain linked with the French international.A new midfielder remains the Spaniard’s priority ahead of the summer window, but he is likely to be in the market for another forward and defender.
There are lots of rumours about Diaby’s future in Germany and with his contract expiring in 2025, Leverkusen could look to cash in this summer before real uncertainty over his future grows. Newcastle are ‘attacking again’, though it is said that Arsenal ‘keep in constant contact’ with the player’s entourage.
