Officers with guns have been patrolling the streets
of Onthank in the town with dozens of police vehicles also dispatched to the area.
Specialist police armed with guns have been stationed on Knockinlaw Road but a huge police presence has been spotted near to Onthank Primary school and at the Spar on Meiklewood Road.
