Red-shirt junior defensive lineman Anthonie Cooper has become the second Sun Devil to enter the transfer portal. The first was quarterback Paul Tyson who did so on Monday.
Tyson was a newcomer to ASU this past season, transferring to the school in January from Alabama, but he played in just one game, getting a handful of snaps in the Sun Devils' season-opening 40-3 win against Northern Arizona. When Jones went down in the game against Washington it was Bourguet getting the call. And it was Bourguet starting the last five games of the regular season even after Jones was healthy so that seemed to indicate Tyson was low enough on the depth chart he wasn't going to get playing time.
This marks the 11th and 12th time a Sun Devil has won a Pac-12 Player of the Week award under head coach Bobby Hurley. Cambridge Jr. is the first winner of Pac-12 Player of the Week from ASU for men's basketball since 2020.
