The victim is Birmingham’s third homicide in 2023. At this time last year, Birmingham had already had nine homicides.
The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. at Adona apartments on Aspen Run.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, had collapsed on the sidewalk in front of a building. He was pronounced dead on the scene.The preliminary investigation shows both of the men are connected to a woman who lives in the complex. The woman’s brother reportedly used a rifle to fatally shoot his sister’s boyfriend.
