: Apple has always positioned itself as a privacy-first company, especially when compared to its peers. With its latest round of announcements during its annual developers conference, Apple has made product changes to emphasize that message—and strike a contrast with Facebook and Google.A “Sign In with Apple” option will now sit next to the “Sign In With Facebook” and “Sign In With Google” buttons.

Signing in with Apple allows users to log into apps with one tap, but without sharing any data to third party app developers . Users can even hide their real email from apps if they choose. If an app needs to send you an email, Apple will create a random email address that forwards emails to your real address. That way, apps won’t have your email if you don’t want them to.: “Apple Sign On is overdue, at least from my perspective as a consumer. Betting consumers have fatigue with their data being monetized,” said Julie Ask, president and principal analyst at Forrester.
