Apartment builder Fairfield Residential is planning a new rental community on a Farmers Branch industrial site.
The project on the east side of Midway is to be built on the site of an industrial building in a commercial district dating to the 1970s.
The $60 million, 600,000-square-foot Fairfield Midway Apartments are scheduled to open in early 2026, according to planning documents filed with the state.Farmers Branch approved plans for the development earlier this year. The rental community will include a ground-floor amenity center and leasing office facing a plaza off McEwen Road. And a rooftop terrace is planned over the parking garage. Two courtyards will be included in the project along with two dog parks, according to city filings.The new apartment community is planned in an area formerly occupied by mostly commercial buildings.which had 11 buildings constructed starting in the 1970s around a small lake, has been redeveloped with apartments and retail.
