Another weekend of bloodshed in Greater Manchester as nearly 30 people stabbed and one shot dead THIS YEAR
A dad who was shot dead in broad daylight has become the latest person to lose their life after another weekend of bloodshed on the streets of Greater Manchester.
The carnage comes after at least 27 stabbings and five shootings in Greater Manchester in just the first three months of this year. The latest shooting is the first fatal one this year, since dad-of-two Liam Smith was shot and doused with acid in Wigan in December last year. “It is difficult to comprehend that Zikel has died under such tragic circumstances and the shock is profound. Police were called to Hollinwood Avenue just before 8.30am on Saturday following reports of an assault. The stretch of road between Londis and the British Raj was taped of following the incident. "This type of incident will not be tolerated and GMP will take robust action to ensure that our communities feel safe and that offenders are brought to justice.
