Anchorage is in for another round of snow this weekend even as it continues to recover from a three-day storm earlier this week, and much of Southcentral Alaska will fall under a winter storm watch beginning Sunday.

Anywhere from 6 inches to 2 feet of heavy snow is expected in areas across the region, according to the National Weather Service, which issued winter storm watches that will take effect Sunday afternoon and last through Monday., the weather service said 10 to 16 inches of heavy snow is possible by Monday afternoon, with higher snow totals expected on the Anchorage Hillside and in Eagle River.
