A disgruntled man has landed criticism after ringing 999 to complain about a 'very noisy' police helicopter searching for a missing woman, as it was disturbing his sleep. In a recording that caused outrage among members of the public, the man tells officers to 'get that infernal machine out of the sky' because it had woken him up.
Police released a recording of the call in a tweet, with a message underneath saying the call was regarding the noise being generated by a police helicopter. It said the helicopter had been searching for a missing woman, later found with serious injuries to her arms, with the text followed by #ThinkBeforeYouDial.
In the recording, the man asks the call handler for the time, with the handler responding by asking if the man had 'got an emergency?' The handler went on to say this 'isn't a life or death emergency' and that the man had called the emergency line to complain that a helicopter had 'woken you up'."You've called a life and death emergency line to say a helicopter has woken you up.
This call to 999 was about the noise being generated by a police helicopter. They were searching for a missing women who was later found with serious injuries to her arms.
