Andrey Zvyagintsev, the Oscar-nominated Russian filmmaker, will next direct 'Jupiter,' a politically-minded movie about the Russian oligarchy.
The movie will tell the story of a Russian oligarch’s reckoning with the harsh reality of his family’s future.
“Jupiter” is set in the seemingly impenetrable world of the ultra-wealthy and is being described by the producers as an “unrelenting exploration of power and corruption.” The celebrated screenwriter-director explored the darker side of contemporary Russian society in his two most recent films, “Loveless” and “Leviathan,” both of which competed at Cannes and earned Oscar nominations. Along with winning Cannes’ Jury Prize, “Loveless” also won the César Award for best foreign-language film in 2018, making Zvyagintsev the first Russian director to win this award.
