Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson is reversing course on his administration's plan to use the Spenard and Fairview recreation centers for emergency homeless shelters.

A spokesman for the mayor said in an emailed statement Tuesday evening that “other aspects of the plan will be utilized for emergency shelter.” It is not yet clear whether the Bronson administration still intends to close Centennial at the end of the month, and the mayor’s office did not immediately respond to emailed questions about the matter.
