Apple may launch a new MacBook this month, but there's good news for fans of the premium MacBook Pro laptops.
The premium 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops have overcome their supply problems and you can buy many models straight off the Apple Store shelves.... [+]….while Apple no doubt has such a machine ready but it remains to be seen how that fits in with the rest of the portfolio, the timing of the M2 processor release in the mid-cycle of macOS, and what the 2 in M2 will mean for the brand story of the various M1 models.
Of more interest, and something that is solid enough to rely on, is the increased availability of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. These laptops were release late last year to critical acclaim, and delivers a new design language that same a plethora of I/O ports return, a new miniLED based screen for more vivid colours and deeper blacks, and rapid charging of the battery similar to premium smartphones and tablets. They were also in high demand, with waiting times stretching at some points out to six weeks.
It now looks like Apple has found the balance between supply and demand, with base models available same-day and other variants available with a few days wait."At the time of writing buying a MacBook Pro in the United States and United Kingdom is pretty easy if you want the base M1 Pro models. Increasing things like RAM and storage complicates matters, as does opting for the M1 Max chip. But most orders are now looking like they will arrive within days or, at worst, weeks.
