At least one Jersey Shore attraction closed early Wednesday.
A popular New Jersey boardwalk closed its outdoor activities early on Wednesday due to concerns of poor air quality. It was unclear if other beaches and boardwalks would follow suit.
Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach announced in a social media post that it would be closing for the day around 5 p.m. The boardwalk’s outdoor activities, including rides and food stands, are usually open until 8 p.m. on weekdays. “Due to the current air quality, Jenkinson’s Boardwalk will be closing our outdoor attractions early today out concern for our staff and visitors. Thank you for understanding and stay safe,” Jenkinson’s said in a statement.to avoid going outside and recommended that those who have to be outdoors wear an N95 mask.
