The video was shot at the iconic country music venue Gruene Hall in New Braunfels.
A music video for “Damn Strait,” filmed in October at the historic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, was released this month. The production company spent two days at the venue and filmed on the dance floor, stage and in front of the George Strait wall.
Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band began playing there in 1975 and quickly became a fixture. The building is featured in the artwork for his 1981 album “Strait Country.” The superstar has periodically returned to the venue. A 2016 performance of “Amarillo by Morning” has racked up more than five million YouTube views.
“Hopefully, he loves it,” McCreery says. “He’s a guy that I’ve grown up idolizing and loving his music.”
