'Amazing' little girl taken too soon by rare condition as dad plans to honour her legacy
Known as "Boo Boo" to her family, Ellissa Dodd lived with a rare condition, called FoxG1, for most of her life and died in hospital in October last year. FoxG1 is a condition characterised by impaired development and structural brain abnormalities.
Last year, Ellissa was laid at rest in one of Derian House Children's Hospice cold "sunflower rooms", which gave her parents, mum Liz and dad Jack, more time to say goodbye. “Ellissa was such an amazing little person, so full of life and even with everything she had to go through she was still our little ray of sunshine. Even though she couldn’t talk she still communicated in her own way and made such a huge impact on everyone she knew and taught us all so much in life.
