Manchester City star Julian Alvarez has been described as 'almost undroppable' by Pep Guardiola this season.
It's always handy when you have players capable of stepping up to the plate when others aren't performing quite as well as they can.
The Norwegian has now committed the sin of not scoring in three games but what is a bit more worrying is that he hasn't really been getting chances, either. Haaland didn't have a sniff against Arsenal, literally accumulating an xG of 0.0, and only got the briefest of openings against Wolves. When he does get chances, like at RB Leipzig, he isn't taking them as confidently as he can.
In a creative midfield role, Alvarez has helped City tick in attacking areas and contributed decisive moments. He has six goals and four assists, the same total number of contributions as Haaland, to his name already this season and his strikes have been important. All of them have either been to put the side ahead or draw them level.
"I see him every day, he is getting better, his mood is good," he said. "Hopefully sooner than we expect he will come back."
