Alleged murderer tells jury he has no recollection of fatally stabbing man in the street because he was drunk
An alleged murderer told a jury he doesn't know whether he stabbed a man after being accused of stealing his phone. Self confessed drug addict Anthony George, 42, is on trial accused of murdering 25-year-old Tyrone Williamson in Bolton.
Jurors have heard that Mr George was assaulted following the alleged murder, suffering five stab wounds and spending three weeks in hospital. Earlier on December 11 last year, Mr George had been at Mr Williamson's home on Battenberg Road in Bolton with a group of others. Mr George was ejected from the house, the jury has heard. In an ensuing confrontation on the street, Mr Williamson said he was going to ‘one bomb’ Mr George, before the defendant allegedly stabbed him.
Mr Walker has argued that Mr George was unable to form an intention to cause serious harm at the time, that he did not intend to cause really serious harm and that he was acting in self defence.
