Those who are due a benefit payment in April could also see a change to the date they’re paid at the beginning of the month. And benefits, including Universal Credit and Child Benefit, will be going up, too. 1. Benefits paid early With Easter coming up this weekend, anyone due a payment within the next week could see their benefits paid early.
Around seven million parents will benefit from this change – which will see them getting an extra £83.20 per year for the eldest child and an extra £54.60 per year for any younger children.3. Increase to Universal Credit and other benefits Likewise, Universal Credit and other benefit recipients will also get an increase to their payments from 6 April.
The Chancellor announced, in his Spring Budget earlier this month, that there would be an end to the ‘unfair’ High-Income Child Benefit charge. 5. Increase to the National Living Wage There’s set to be a £160 cash boost for the lowest earners in the UK from next week, as the National Living Wage will rise from 1 April.This works out at £153 extra a month for those working an average working week.
