She added: A WCH spokesperson said its repair team was on site to make sure the area was safe the day the broken canopy was reported.“We do not believe that there is a wider problem with the construction of the glass canopies, but in response to residents’ concerns we are taking the precautionary measure of replacing all of them with an alternative product.”Mrs Sadiq said she was told by neighbours that a glass canopy also broke at an apartment block nearby.
However, WCH said the only other broken canopy it is aware of was when one was accidently struck by a contractor during works.
