A long-time Mulberry fan, Alexa Chung might be reviving her iconic bag.
Posting on Instagram, the style muse revealed how she has just rediscovered her “ancient” brown satchel circa 2006, complete with a patterned blue guitar strap that she used to personalise the accessory. Chung’s studded Mulberry bag is the epitome of the
trend that’s made a recent resurgence, with the likes of Kate Moss and Mary-Kate Olsen among the other chief flag-bearers for the grungey Noughties aesthetic.Of course, Chung is a long-time poster girl for Mulberry, with the star often seen carrying the British brand’s Bayswater bag during the Noughties. In 2010, the brand went on to create the Alexa, a slouchy satchel inspired by the television presenter that was so popular that it sparked lengthy waiting lists worldwide.
“Mulberry was the first handbag I bought myself with the first pay cheque I made as a model, and so it has always been a hugely significant brand to me,” Chung previously told British. “When I was younger, I thought Mulberry was about as sophisticated, classic, elegant and forever as it got – and I can’t really shift that, because what I thought as a teenager is part of my essence.
