. One of those ways is by shopping at a cheaper supermarket.
For the 10th consecutive time, Aldi has been named the cheapest UK supermarket beating the most expensive, Waitrose, by £20.01. The German discount supermarket charged £72.54 for a typical shop, according to Which?.The next-cheapest supermarket was fellow discounter Lidl, which charged less than £1 more at £72.79. The latest research shows that last month, Aldi was a huge £20.01 cheaper than the most expensive supermarket, Waitrose, for an equivalent basket of items.
Which? also revealed Aldi to be £9.04 cheaper than Tesco and £11.09 cheaper than Morrisons per basket. Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said: “Now, more than ever, our focus remains on keeping prices low and quality high. This is the tenth month in a row we have been named as the UK’s cheapest supermarket, and we couldn’t be more delighted.
The news comes as Aldi has announced a 40% off voucher across a whole host of garden must-haves, offering shoppers even more ways to save. Available to use online only, the limited-time voucher code is valid until April 11, but as with all Specialbuys shoppers will need to hurry as once they’re gone, they’re gone.
