Alan will star in the series as himself in the present day
Alan Carr's new ITV series about growing up in Northampton now has a release date. Changing Ends is a six-part series described as an "autobiographical comedy" and is co-written by the BAFTA award-winner Carr and the Scottish BAFTA & RTS award-winner Simon Carlyle, co-creator of BBC2 sitcom Two Doors Down.
The series is produced by Baby Cow Productions, which is responsible for Gavin & Stacey as well as Alan Partridge. Alan Carr will star in the series as himself in the present day, while Oliver Savell will take on the role of young Alan.A teaser shares: “The comedy series will be more than just a trip down memory lane, it’s a love letter to a time and a town where things weren’t always so inclusive.
“It’s about school and family, Kevin Keegan and George Michael, and figuring out who you are when your family are Match of the Day and you’re a bit Miss Marple.” Playing Alan’s neighbours are Rourke Mooney and Gabby Best as Charlie and Angela along with Harry Peacock as Nigel. Guest stars include David Mumeni as Mr Chapman and Michael Socha as Adam.
