An Alabama State Trooper is recovering after he was shot in the line of duty following a Sunday-evening pursuit in south Alabama.
The exchange of gunfire left one suspect dead, and two other people injured.“I am extremely relieved and thankful to share that he is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery,’’ Taylor said. “Cpl. Alford acted with true courage and heroism over the course of the incident and was able to secure the scene and ensure public safety while injured.”

Alford and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers as we all look forward to a speedy recovery.”on Interstate 65 in Conecuh County. The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued.
Burkett said one person died, and two others were injured. The injured were taken to an undisclosed hospital.The State Bureau of Investigation is leading the probe. Once complete, the findings will be turned over the Escambia County District Attorney’s Office.
