The average price for a gallon of unleaded in Alabama Tuesday morning is $3.98, a hike of seven cents in one day. The national average Tuesday stands at $4.17, the highest number AAA has ever recorded, surpassing a total that had stood since 2008. But if you factor in Tuesday’s increased average, the price in Alabama has actually increased 62 cents over the last seven days. The state’s average is 80 cents higher than a month ago.
Another change in the last week - Alabama is no longer among states with the lowest average price, according to AAA. Oklahoma is selling gas for an average of $3.71, making it the state with the biggest bargain. California wins hands-down for the highest average, at $5.44.
