Airbus is on track to overtake troubled rival Boeing to become the world’s biggest jetliner maker this year
Airbus SE posted a steep rise in first-quarter adjusted profit, driven by increased plane deliveries and putting the European plane maker on pace to overtake troubled U.S. rival Boeing Co. to become the world’s largest jetliner maker this year.
Airbus said adjusted earnings before interest and taxes, stripping out one-time items, rose to €549 million from €14 million in the same period in 2018. However, net profit fell 86% to €40 million.
