The MCU has highlighted many important characters that added to its ever-expanding lore, but perhaps none are more important than Agent Mark Smith.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT With the ever-increasing number of films and T.V. series delving deeper into the continuity of the MCU, basically every character significant to the wider lore has had their stories told and elaborated on - everyone, except Agent Mark Smith. Well, sort of. Agent Smith is a character who only exists in an MCU prelude comic, and never actually made it to the big or small screen.
If everything didn’t transpire as it did during that period of time, the entire landscape of the MCU would look completely different from how it looks now. Characters wouldn’t exist, villains wouldn’t have risen up, and key events wouldn’t have taken place. And it’s all thanks to Agent Mark Smith. Smith’s gripes were overheard by an undercover Hydra agent , and that agent introduced Smith to Baron Strucker, Hydra’s lead scientific mind and current commander. Strucker convinced Smith to join Hydra outright, promising to put the agent back in the field where he believed he belonged. Agent Smith accepted Strucker’s offer, and his first mission was to deliver him Loki’s scepter - a mission he happily completed.
