After strong, cold front overnight, chance of thunderstorms, showers throughout the week with warmer temperatures

National Weather Service meteorologist Casey Sullivan said Monday’s high temperatures could get to the upper 30s, even touching 40, from early morning’s low of the low- to mid-30s. Passing snow showers were expected to halt by late morning or early afternoon.Much of the area recorded under half an inch of snow accumulation, with O’Hare International Airport getting a total of two-tenths overnight, Sullivan said.
The “best chance for rain and thunderstorms” is Thursday, Sullivan said, at 80% in the late morning through afternoon, with temperatures in the lower 70s for most of the area.
