An Ohio man alleged to have fled a 2011 warrant in Cincinnati for his arrest on murder charges was caught working as a security guard at an Oklahoma City bar Friday, U.S. Marshals announced.
Charles Turk, 42, is accused in the Dec. 10, 2010, murder of Robert Jones, 33, who was a known drug trafficker at the time of his death according to the complaint charging Mr. Turk with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Jones was found bound, wrapped up and wounded by gunshot at the edge of a now-defunct Cincinnati golf course. This suggested to investigators that Jones had been killed elsewhere in a drug-related dispute and then dumped.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives began to look at Mr. Turk as their primary suspect. A criminal complaint was filed charging Mr. Turk with evidence tampering on May 5, and a charge for the murder of Jones came down on June 14. By the time of his arrest Friday, Turk had found employment at the Coyote Ugly Saloon in Oklahoma City, working security for the venue.• Brad Matthews can be reached at
