Infrastructure consulting firm AECOM has been tapped to lead major capital improvements for Dallas' Fair Park – the site of the State Fair of Texas, the Cotton Bowl Stadium and African American Museum of Dallas – as program manager.

Fair Park First selected AECOM to oversee the delivery the Community Park Complex, an expansive 18-acre greenspace that also includes a 1,650-space parking structure. The firm will also serve as a partner on future projects with managing design, construction, permitting, and closeout, among other services as part of the Fair Park Masterplan Update.for the 18-acre community park complex coming to Fair Park in January.

It will feature a dog park, outdoor café, ecological gardens, picnic areas, a market grove and a central lawn. The community park will also have Wi-Fi and offer scheduled activities and classes for residents in the surrounding communities. “In line with our Sustainable Legacies strategy of partnering with clients to make a lasting, positive impact, we’re committed to improving social outcomes at each step of the program by working with minority- and women-owned enterprises and surrounding businesses to create real, measurable value and help make Fair Park a reflection of Dallas’s diversity and dynamism,” Poloni added.to Dallas from Los Angeles.
