Musk last week U-turned on a rollout of subscriptions, as a mass of senior staff walked out and employees were told that “bankruptcy is not out of the question”. In an internal memo to advertisers Omnicom sent out last week it is believed brands were warned they should “pause activity on Twitter in the short term” as issues with the company’s roll-out of its new subscription service had “potentially serious implications” for companies advertising on the site.
