Tyler Adams has penned a five-year deal with Premier League outfit Bournemouth
Tyler Adams has completed his switch to Premier League side Bournemouth to bring his time with Leeds United to an end. The midfielder spent just one season with the Whites, but following their relegation from the Premier League last season, he has opted to sign a five-year deal with the Cherries.
Leeds had hoped to keep hold of the 24-year-old as they bid to win promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking, but over the last couple of weeks it has become clear that his future was in the Premier League. A move to Chelsea fell through earlier this month as the Blues focused their efforts elsewhere, but Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth have completed the deal without a hitch.
Adams hasn’t seen a minute of action yet this season as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury, but he is on the comeback trail and he’ll be keen to make his debut for the south coast club after next month’s international break. The 24-year-old made just 24 league appearances for United and caught the eye with a number of appearances in the middle of the park last season.
Adams becomes the 14th senior player to leave Elland Road this summer, following the likes of Jack Harrison, Max Wober, Rasmus Kristensen, Rodrigo and Robin Koch out the door. However, his departure leaves a big hole in the middle of the park and Leeds will be keen to bolster Daniel Farke’s squad as much as they can over the remaining two weeks of the transfer window.
