9th annual CamelliaBowl happening TODAY! Here’s what you need to know
This game, typically played on Christmas Day, will mark the first-ever meeting on the gridiron for the Eagles and the Bulls. Both teams previously made winning appearances in the post-season bowl game.
“We are extremely excited to bring two former Camellia Bowl champions back to Montgomery,” Johnny Williams, executive director said. “Buffalo and Georgia Southern provided some late-game heroics in their previous trip to Montgomery, and both team closed the regular season with exciting wins to earn the trip to the Camellia Bowl.”
Georgia Southern is a member of the Sun Belt Conference, while Buffalo is part of the Mid-American Conference. The game has historically kept both teams close with seven of the first eight matchups being decided by eight points or fewer.
