The inside track on the football stories that matter
Goodison Park has been home to the Merseysiders since 1892 and has hosted more top flight games than any other stadium in England.
But the Toffees are preparing for change ahead of the completion of their new stadium at Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock. Construction on the new ground is set to be completed by the start of the 2024-25 season with an estimated cost of £500million. The new ground will also have a greater capacity than Goodison Park’s 39,572 seats, promising to house 52,888 fans on matchdays.Incredible. Do you think you can show a blade of grassing growing, or perhaps a close up of the paint drying in the away dressing room. 💤One supporter didn’t have a bad word to say about the new stadium, no matter how hard he tried. One is hoping the new seats will be able to replicate the sounds of Goodison Park, if not they’ll have to start over.
