A 42-year-old North Carolina resident was shot and killed last week in East Orange, authorities announced Monday.were called to the area of Elmwood Park for a report of shots fired and when they arrived they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds on Oak Street, according to a joint statement from the department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Oak Street borders one of the sides of the small park.
The man, identified Monday as Antwan McAdoo, 42, of Burlington, North Carolina, was rushed to University Hospital in Newark where he pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m., the office said. No other details were released by the agencies as the shooting remained under investigation. No suspects were named and no arrests were made.
