A family is recovering in the hospital after escaping a house fire in southwest Houston Wednesday, officials with the Houston Fire Department said. HFD htx hounews kprc2 click2houston hounews
HFD responded to a report of a house on fire with people trapped inside in the 11400 block of Plumbrook around 2:20 a.m.
Firefighters said when they arrived at the scene, they found four people that self-evacuated from a home that was on fire. According to firefighters, the four people, which consisted of two adults and two minors, were transported to area hospitals in stable condition. The patients were suffering from smoke inhalation and lacerations, HFD said.
Firefighters said there was moderate smoke showing from the house and crews were able to get the fire under control fairly quickly. It is unclear where the fire started, investigators said.
