According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake took place at 3:18 p.m. and registered a 4.4 magnitude.

By Mori Kessler | St. George NewsPeople across the St. George area experienced what some on social media said felt like a “rolling shake” between 3:15 and 3:20 p.m. Some reported the quake lasted just a second or two while others said it lasted up to 10 seconds in duration.

It took place on the Shivwits Plateau in Arizona, 50 miles south of St. George.
