Challenging matters require that you make consistent, ethical choices.
Being open to improvement is key to any person or organization’s development, reputation and longevity. When an issue arises, be open to discussing it. If you depend only on technology or one person to make decisions on thorny issues, you run the risk of not recognizing critical aspects and ultimately not making principled-based decisions that you can defend.
Recognize that maybe you need to change the way you were adhering to the principle to reflect societal changes. Take the Oversight Board, as an example. A group of scholars and experts are testing Meta’s principles to ensure diversity & inclusion and user safety. The board’s discussions have made the company consider changes to their policy, level of transparency and enforcement.
