On Thursday, authorities arrested Julio Benitez Hernandez and Rafael Vazquez Unzaga, both 30, along with 42-year-old Joxan Santos Legon, in northeast Texas
The theft of more than 18,000 gallons in Garland occurred at the Ricky Rockets Fuel Center at 1910 S. Jupiter Road, near West Jim Miller Road, police said.
Detectives found the truck believed to be involved in the thefts on Thursday and surveilled it as it traveled to Bowie and Franklin counties. Police said the vehicle was in the process of stealing fuel when state troopers and Garland police arrested the men, who authorities said were in possession of more than 1,500 gallons of gas.
Vazquez Unzaga and Santos Legon were booked into the Bowie County jail on one count each of evading arrest, engaging in organized criminal activity and theft of a petroleum product, according to jail records. Garland police said Benitez Hernandez, who did not appear in jail records Friday afternoon, was also detained there.. Aria writes about breaking news.
