Three children, all under the age of 4, were found dead in a Phoenix home Monday night, fire authorities said.
Officers attempted to revive the children but were unsuccessful. The Phoenix Fire Department later pronounced all three children dead at the house.Fortune said they are not classifying the deaths as a homicide at this point, and it is too early to know the cause of death. She said there were no obvious signs of trauma. She said the medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
David Ware, a neighbor, said he initially learned about the potential drownings on a neighborhood Facebook page. "Being that I have kids, I wanted to come out and see if it was a dangerous situation that could jeopardize my children," Ware said. Ware said police at the scene didn't seem"frantic" and figured the area was secure. He said that the area included a landscaping business and he often saw trucks coming in and out.
"I've always just assumed it was an active business," Ware said."I've never seen children on the property."
