Three people have been charged in the kidnapping and assault of a north Alabama man who was bound and beaten with a metal pipe in Etowah County.
Horton said the incident happened in Etowah County’s Egypt community.
Charging documents state that the victim’s hands were bound and that he was struck multiple times with a metal pipe. The suspects then reportedly put him in the back of a truck and drove him to another location where he was let go, though his hands were still tied together. A motive has not been disclosed, but the sheriff said the suspects and the victim were acquaintances and that it was not a random attack.Downing is being held in the Marshall County Jail pending extradition to Etowah County. Her bond will be set at $50,000.
