A ten-day dig at Attingham Park has unearthed remains of a 'secret garden' dating back to the start of the 1800s.

Over the course of the most recent dig, staff and volunteers have discovered a second building, around double the size of the summerhouse, and a curving boundary wall. "We know that this was built in the time of the 2nd Lord Berwick, who is famous for the amount of money that he spent," added Nigel:"it's unlikely that he was the type of man who would make his own cup of tea, or put his own log on the fire.
