2 pilots eject safely before military plane crashes in Baldwin County, BCSO says
Baldwin County Sheriff Huey “Hoss” Mack tells FOX10 News the pilots were taken to a Florida hospital for evaluation. They appeared to have minor injuries, he said.
Naval Air Station Whiting Field says the pilots ejected from a T-6B Texan II aircraft assigned to Training Air Wing 5. No other injuries have been reported at this time, and the cause of the incident is under investigation, according to a public affairs officer with NAS Whiting Field. FOX10 News was told by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office that the plane went down west of County Road 87 in the Gateswood community north of Interstate 10.The last time a Navy T-6B aircraft crashed in th area was on Oct. 23, 2020.
