The attacks both occurred last month, county officials said.
The first incident happened on Feb. 18 when a family dog was attacked by a raccoon in the yard of a Cherry Hill home, according to a release from the Camden County Health Department on Monday. The town’s animal control officer was able to capture the raccoon and bring it to the Public Health & Environmental Laboratories in Trenton.
The next incident happened on Feb. 23 when a Cherry Hill family’s dog was found with an unknown wound, the county said. Hours later, a dead raccoon was discovered in the yard of the home.
