A 16-year-old boy has been identified as the victim fatally shot off I-459 near Liberty Park
A 16-year-old has been identified as the person killed at the Liberty Parkway exit just off I-459.
Vestavia police and firefighters were first on the scene. Vestavia Fire transported the victim to Grandview Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6:23 p.m. Eight teens have been shot to death in Birmingham this year: One 13-year-old, four 16-year-olds, two 17- year-olds and one 18-year- old. All were students.
Two of them, ages 16 and 17, were killed in Midfield. A 15-year-old girl was killed in Bessemer, and an 18-year-old was killed in Fairfield.
