A raft of new faces could be pitched in for their first Glasgow derby by both Michael Beale and Brendan Rodgers at Ibrox.
But this being the first one of the season, a number of new faces are set to be pitched into the heat of this particular battle for the first time. Seven of Celtic's summer signings are fit and in contention for a run out at Ibrox. Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Luis Palma, Odin Holm, Nat Phillips and Paulo Bernardo are the rookies when it comes to Rangers.
Tore Andre Flo, Rangers 5-1 Celtic, November 2000 Rangers got their revenge and then some when the sides next met in November. New £12million signing Tore Andre Flo was pitched in for his debut and made a scoring start, putt Rangers 2-1 up after Barry Ferguson and Henrik Larsson had both netted either side of half-time. The game then got away from Celtic as Ronald de Boer, Lorenzo Amoruso and Michael Mols ensured they got payback.
Cha Du Ri, Rangers 3-2 Celtic, March 2012 An example not to follow for anyone this weekend. Celtic went to Ibrox with the chance to win the league on their rivals' patched, so the hosts were fired up for this one. Korean full back Cha Du Ri was making his first appearances in the fixture, and it last less than half-an-hour.
