A Minnesota woman died Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision on the Parks Highway that also left four people injured, Alaska State Troopers said.

A northbound shuttle bus owned by CATC Alaska Tourism Corp., carrying two people, crossed the center line into oncoming traffic near Mile 91 north of Willow around 2 p.m. and collided with a Toyota SUV and a Dodge van, troopersTamela Kringlund, 62, who was driving the Toyota, died at the scene, troopers said.

Everyone else involved in the collision was injured. A person who had been in the bus was in critical condition, said troopers spokesman Austin McDaniel. An investigation is ongoing, and troopers said it wasn’t immediately clear why the bus crossed the center line. Kringlund’s next of kin were notified, and her body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, troopers said.
