BREAKING OVERNIGHT: An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire in Philly's Wissahickon neighborhood. A 75-year-old man was found dead and another person was injured.
Investigators say there was a lot of clutter in the home which led to a difficult firefight.“We want to just let everybody know to call 311 for smoke alarms, that’s all the things that we’ve been preaching. The commissioner has talked about us having a fire problem in the city,” Philadelphia Fire Department Capt. Derek Bowmer said.
A fire official says there were no working smoke alarms in the home. Crews are still working to confirm the cause.
